Characterisation of the intertidal marsh of the Betsiamites River estuary : Pessamit marsh

In the summer and fall of 2020, a collaboration between Agence Mamu Innu Kaikusseht (AMIK) and the Comité ZIP de la Rive Nord de l'Estuaire made it possible de carry out a characterization study on the intertidal marsh of the estuary of the Betsiamites River.

The objective of the project was to increase our knowledge of wetlands. The characterization of the Pessamit marsh has made it possible to highlight the biological, physical, geomorphological and abiotic factors that constitute the marsh. For our study, the data collected in the field are essentially linked to floristic and ichtyological inventories. The physico-chemical parameters of the environment were also noted.

This project is part of the Coastal Environmental Baseline Program Initiative under the Oceans Protection Plan of Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
