Geomorphological and surrounding characterization of baie de Kamouraska

The comité ZIP carried out a biophysical characterization of the Baie de Kamouraska in 2012.This area demonstrates peculiarities particularly in the marsh, which shows signs of erosion and the presence of aboiteau (dyke) which conditions the drainage of farmland and the evolution of the marsh. An inventory of the flora and fauna of the birds was carried out. A coastal characterization including the state of the coast was carried out as well as a historical analysis of the evolution of the coast from 1961 to 2012. Recommendations as well as examples on the renaturalization of dredged areas (depolderisation) have been proposed.
