Baseline waterbird surveys for Port of St John region, New Brunswick, Canada

Point count waterbird surveys conducted from 2019 – 2021 during select times in the fall, spring, summer and winter seasons. Species, number of individuals, general behaviour (resting, feeding, flying), disturbances and general location in relation to shore (inshore, nearshore, offshore) are recorded along with site specific disturbances, weather (precipitation, wind, cloud cover, tide state, tide movement, sea state, visibility and glare) and anthropogenic use of sites.

Data encompasses 33 coastal and river-edge survey areas throughout the Port of Saint John region in New Brunswick, Canada. This project is part of the Coastal Environmental Baseline Program Initiative under the Oceans Protection Plan of Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
