Among other things, this project is aimed to increase the capacity of the Mi'gmags of Gespeg and of of Gesgapegiag to acquire scientific data on the striped bass and to contribute to the recovery of the striped bass and protection of its habitat. This database is the result of seine surveys from the south coast of the Gaspé Peninsula during the summer of 2016. All species caught were counted and some specimens were measured and weighed. Thus 42 species of fish and 3 species of crustaceans were inventoried. Miguasha to Newport region for Gesgapegiag. Chandler to Park Forillon region for Gespeg.
